Not quite a Monday Confessional, but more of a Monday "Wow This Is Embarrassing."
I'll preface by saying that I'm very glad I wore cargo pants today, with huge pockets that can button closed. Soon you will see why.
I have a problem finding bras that fit. So I measured myself carefully and ordered one from an online store. It arrived, and all seemed well and good. It didn't quite fit, but it fit at least as well as any I've ever picked out from a regular store, so I figured it would be fine.
I wore it today.
A little while after lunch, I noticed that it was starting to feel REALLY uncomfortable.
I went to the restroom to lock myself in a stall and investigate in relative privacy.
One of the straps had broken. It was not reparable. At least not by me, with the resources I have at work!
It is now in my gigantic buttoned-shut cargo pocket.
I just have to remember not to jump up and down at any point today.

Mmmm... *mind drifts* ;-)
Sorry, but that made me giggle. I hope you can return it at least. Perhaps we need to go shopping at Vicky's for the hell of it? ;)
I emailed the online store and they said they'd exchange it, but not refund it. Which doesn't help a whole heck of a lot, since it didn't fit right anyway!
I can't think of much that would be more embarrassing than going to be fitted for a bra, but it may be something that should be done. Yikes. So, Aithne, want to go to the bra store with me so I don't run away screaming in terror? (Tirithien, I'd invite you along too, dear, but they seem to frown upon having guys in such places. ;-) )
I would totally be up for going bra-shopping with you guys, if it weren't for that pesky Arkansas and Missouri and Illinois and Indiana in the way.
I don't know if you really need to be professionally fitted, though - I imagine they probably all measure you the same way to get the size, but different manufacturers and different styles make it so size alone isn't enough to go on. I finally just found one model by one manufacturer that works for me, and bought a bunch of them in different colors...!
Whoo hoo! Bra trip! Don't worry, I won't let you go screaming away in terror. If we hit a really "upscale" place, they'll be super nice and professional. Then you'll know your size, and we can hit a store more in our budget. ;)
Today I have a tank top/undershirt with a built in "shelf bra" and all is well. Too bad my back muscles would be unhappy with me if I went without support every day!
I would guess that I'm probably the last person you want commenting on this.
*lol*
Very true!
Although, for sheer embarrassment value, it would probably be even worse if my baby brother commented on it. But he doesn't leave comments here.
Wow, bouncy boobies!
I picked a fine day to check out your blog, eh?
Mom! I know that's you! Baby Brother wouldn't use such good capitalization and punctuation for an online message! And he'd call himself "Tall Guy" or something like that.
Busted! (Get it?) hehehe
I can totally relate to this.....I had an underwire bra when I was at work many years ago and the underwire came out.....needless to say, one was high and one was low! Not a pretty sight!
