Back on the Job Trail

After my disastrous attempt at telemarketing, I'm back out on the job market.

(Why do they call it pounding the pavement, anyway?)

My parents are very kindly going to loan me the money to pay off the IRS, so at least I don't have that millstone around my neck. (Thanks, Mom!)

Can't I just win a small lottery amount? Not a huge one, I'm not asking that. Just enough to pay off my debts. Is that too much to ask?

Evidently it is. So I've got a long list of places to stop by and fill out applications after I get out of work today. Even including fast food places. I could wind up smelling like fries for months.

But then, if I work at a fast food place, I probably won't want to eat their food anymore, so I could lose weight out of this. There's always a bright side.

Good luck with the job hunt again.....I know you will find something that you won't hate! :)

Best of luck. If I had a job to spare, I'd hire ya. :-)

Did you give any thought to trying to publish some of your articles? I KNOW you would be a success at that. And it's got the added benefit of you doing something you love.

My mom (Martie) says she's going to win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. If she does, I'll talk her into sending you a little hit.

If she does, I will adopt her as an auntie and go across state to play Doting Niece on weekends. ;-)

I need to pick up a copy of the Writer's Market so I know what magazines might accept which essays. It's certainly worth a try, but that's a very slow process.

Meanwhile, I just got a call from a security company. I applied online just this morning! Could it truly be so easy? (Can you all just picture me as a security guard? Criminals would come in and say, "Aww, look at the cute widdle guard!") But it would be at an auto plant about 5 minutes from home, so I doubt there would be too much crime going on.
