I have absolutely no reason to have it. There is nothing to which I would wear it. I just really want it.
Maybe I should join the Society for Creative Anachronism so I can play with people who won't think I'm too old to be playing dress-up. They'd teach me sword-fighting, too. And that would be really cool.

you are absolutely hilarious. and hilariously, I can see you wearing this, just to go shopping in, on the weekends.
We should have stolen our Shakespearean costumes from our "Twelfth Night" days.
Yes, readers, Bainwen and I are the best actors you've ever seen.
I didn't LIKE my costume from Twelfth Night. I had to play a boy. And I had stupid pants. I did like my hat, though. YOUR costume was cool!
YOU had the coolest costume in the whole play! Her costume, well, it left a bit to be desired. And yes, you and Bainwen AND Dolphin Boy are the best actors on this planet. You should have taken your costume, and Bainwen could get this dress, and when you visit each other wear them and impress everyone you meet.
Bainwen, where did you find this exquisite dress??? Oh, what I wouldn't give for a dress like that! We have the same tastes, in some things! I'm totally with you about this dress. I would very gladly play dress-up with you, and we could go to Mongolian BBQ and be seated immediately. People would bow to us and politely move out of our way at the mall. And imagine going with Uncle Bill to Gander Mountain and Home Depot. Oh, and we shall wear them to Red Wings games! Bet we end up on tv.
Of course, Tirithien will not be able to take his eyes off you, so you shall have to lead him around to keep him from bumping into things. And do make him stop bowing to your loveliness; he will soon start looking like one of those bobbing bird toys.
I think you should get it. Seriously, I really do.
I found it on eBay.
It costs $250. *sigh*
And that's why I'm not getting it.
It is beautiful. :-)
Hmmm... my kola, in that... *mind reels*
I'm kind of surprised you aren't into the local Ren Fests and such. That's a great excuse to wear fun costumes like this!!!
Awww, go on. Get it!
Just bat your eyes for Tirithien and look sweet and demure. I'm sure he won't be able to resist. :)
Sweet and demure? He'd know I was just acting. ;-)
Ah, but YOU had the cool jester hat with bells on it! My costume was just ugly. Oh well. At least I got to play the pretty ballerina girl the next year, even though I sprained my ankle in the process. ;-)
You may have been a boy, but you were uhm... a delicate boy... LOL
I 'seen' it :-) You two were cool! However, my favs in that play were Feste and Sir Toby...Bainwen, I can't go to sleep at night unless I put myself in middle earth, usually Gondor or Bombadil's house. BUY THE DRESS!
Buy it and wear it to a Ren Fest. I think there is one every year not far from where you live. I'm sure you would like the Ren Fest....you could take naneth with you and everyone would bow to both of you!
Rogue comment: The Blue Jackets SUCK! Red Wings handed them their butts AGAIN! GAHHH!
Clew: Ha-ha! :-P
The rest of you: Oh, if only I lived in a world where I didn't need that $250 to pay my rent, I'd have a nice new dress to wear to next summer's Renn Festival. I'd put Tirithien and my Baby Brother in kilts, and we'd make a fine group, we would. ;-)
I used to go to the KC Ren. Fest and always made costumes. I made a dress really similar to this one (though I don't have it anymore :-( Do you sew?
I posted something last summer called, "The picture remembers" (July 1, 2005) with a pic from one of those festivals. I used to love dressing up and all, so I understand the longing here.
